Dear Parents,

It was lovely to see all the students return to school today. Most of them seemed very happy to be back again. The surprise lockdown was a reminder that anything can happen at any time with this virus and that we must always be prepared for short notice events such as these. Staff will be looking at ways that we can be prepared to swing into remote learning should the need arise. Hopefully we won’t need to do this.

As restrictions unfold we will once again be hoping to have camps and excursions as well as any other extra-curricular activities. These may need to be modified and under COVID safe guidelines as far as parent attendance etc. We will keep you informed as things change and rely on your patience and understanding.

It was strange not to have Ash Wednesday Mass for the first time in my memory. It does mark the beginning of Lent leading up to the Easter season which is the highlight of our Church year. It is important to try to hold our faith preciously and pass on the story and rituals as best we can in times of limitations.

We are all looking forward to a happy, busy and uninterrupted term.

Best wishes

Roslyn Joyner

Signing children in and out of school

If your child needs to leave early, or has an appointment, then parents must sign in when they return/arrive.  A note must be supplied to the classroom teacher so that they are aware of why the child is leaving and they can then record the absence.  If your child is unwell to speed up their recovery by not allowing your child to return to school until they are fully recovered.

School Photos

School photo envelopes were distributed to all students.  Parents can either order online or enclose money and return all envelopes to St. Gabriel’s classroom teachers ASAP.  Family photo forms are available at the school office.  We still require the envelopes to be returned.  We will organise the admin and organisation of the event so we are ready on the day.  School photo day is now Thursday 18th May.
