Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers,
It is getting to that time of year when we all get ridiculously busy with the Festive Season and schools are no different. We have lots happening towards the end of the school year.
This week our Year 4 students are heading off for their overnight camp at Coonawarra. They are all very excited and we can’t wait to hear about the fun they have.
Today we have held our rescheduled Junior School Aths on Friday 18th. Thankfully the weather was kind to us. It was wonderful to see the children enjoying themselves and so many parents and grandparents in attendance.
Friday 25th November is our Inaugural Colour Run. This event will start at 1.40pm with our Foundation Students.
1.40-1.50: Foundation
1.55-2.05pm: Years 1 & 2
2.10-2.20pm: Years 3 & 4
2.25-2.35pm: Year 5
2.40-2.50pm: Year 6
The Raffle will be drawn at the end of the Year 6 event.
Friday 9th December we will be holding a special Christmas Assembly in the hall at 2pm. All children are invited to wear Christmas accessories (t-shirt, earrings, santa hat, headband etc). Each year level will be performing 2 Christmas Carols. Parents are very welcome to attend.
In staffing news Mrs Lee McPherson has resigned her position as of last week. Lee has an ongoing injury which is preventing her from working. At the end of the year we will also be farewelling Mrs Jeanne Mendez who has accepted a position at Morwell Central PS in 2023 and Mrs Sue Harbridge who has accepted a position at Glengarry Primary School in 2023. Mrs Kylie Smith will begin maternity leave at the end of the school year. We thank all of these fantastic teachers for the dedication to the education of our students. They will all be very much missed.
We look forward to welcoming Miss Nicola Broeren and Miss Stephanie Costello to our teaching staff in 2023.
Changes to PAM
Over the Christmas holidays your PAM account will be updated to provide better security and allow for further functionality. This change will involve moving to a PAM account per parent rather than an account per family. A survey will be sent out via PAM on Friday 18th November to ensure we have the most up to date information for this change over. Please note if your child is Year 6 and you will no longer have any children at St Gabriel’s then you will not be required to complete the survey.
Kind Regards
Michelle Charlton
You may or may not have heard from your children already that we are holding a colour run on Friday 25th November. I have attached flyers with further details.
This is the P&F major fundraiser for the year. All money raised will be put towards purchasing new representative sporting uniforms for our students eg.Athletics Tops, Netball Dresses etc.
There is a one off donation of $10 per child which includes participation in the colour run, a raffle ticket and icy pole. We have some amazing raffle prizes which include a GT Air BMX, Gumbuya World junior tickets, blue tooth speakers just to name few.
Extra raffle tickets are available to purchase for $1.00 each.
All payments to be made via CDFPay. Please note this will close on Wednesday 23rd November at 8pm.

Signing children in and out of school and Absentee notifications
If your child needs to leave early, or has an appointment, then parents must sign in when they return/arrive. A note must be supplied to the classroom teacher so that they are aware of why the child is leaving and they can then record the absence. Alternatively this can be entered as PNA via PAM.
If your child is unwell to speed up their recovery by not allowing your child to return to school until they are fully recovered.
Absentee notifications can be entered via PAM for one to seven days, if you will be away longer that this you will be required to contact the office on 5174 5515.
If you receive an absentee notification via SMS with regards to your student/s being absentee for the day you have until our 9.30am cut off to lodge via PAM otherwise you will need to phone the admin office on 5174 5515 to advise of the absentee as this is a legal requirement.
