Dear Parents, Guardians & Carers,
Welcome back to Term 3!
As most of you will be aware, our new administration area is now operational. Entry to the office is now at the left-hand side of the drop-off / car park area. Student entry and exit from the drop-off zone is still through Gate B. Our school is looking lovely and fresh with our beautiful new spaces and landscaping and the oval currently nice and green. Our new STEM room is now operating with our Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students participating in STEM sessions with Mrs Collins this semester while our Year 3 – 6 students will be having Performing Arts with Ms Grumley.
As always, we have a busy term ahead with Year 6 camp, Book Week and many sporting activities.
Last week, four of our students – Jack Marino, Aaliyah Judilla, Tahnee Judilla and Jerzey Podmore - competed in the State Cross Country Championships, an awesome achievement! On Wednesday this week our senior school hockey team travelled to Sale to compete in the Regional Winter Sports where they came runners-up. We are so proud of the way in which our students have represented the school at these events.
Foundation Enrolments for 2024 have now closed with offers expected to be sent out within the next couple of weeks.
On a personal note, I would like to thank all the students, parents and family members who reached out to wish me well on my travels to Jerusalem or who have asked me about my trip on my return. It was an amazing experience, and I feel so fortunate to have been given this opportunity. I am looking forward to sharing more of my experiences with the students and community over the coming weeks.
While Michelle is away on her well-deserved long service leave, Camille as Acting Deputy Principal and myself as Acting Principal are both excited to continue to lead the school and hopefully keep everything running smoothly. Please don’t hesitate to contact us at the school at any time with any queries or concerns.
Warm regards,
Alison

ST GABRIEL'S CHILD SAFETY AND WELLBEING STATEMENT
St. Gabriel's Primary School is a child safe school. We are committed to embedding a culture of Child Safety, adhering to the Victorian Child Safe Standards: Managing the Risk of Child Abuse in Schools and School Boarding Premises (Ministeral Order No. 1359). We believe that ensuring the safety of the students in our care is an integral part of who we are as a Catholic faith community. The school acts in accordance with the Ministerial Order through policies, procedures, measures and practices, staff training and, ultimately, through the strategies used in working with the students and families within our school community. We continue to maintain and develop a safe and supportive learning environment where staff are focused on engaging students in meaningful, relevant and challenging learning experiences.
If at any time you have any issues or concerns you feel you need to raise please contact our Principal: Michelle Charlton or our Child Safety Officers: Alison Phillips or Jo Quinn on 5174 5515.
Signing children in and out of school and Absentee notifications
If your child needs to leave early, or has an appointment, then parents must sign them out and back in when they return. A note is to be supplied to the classroom teacher so that they are aware of why the child is leaving and they can then record the absence. Alternatively this can be entered as PNA via PAM.
If your child is unwell, to speed up their recovery we recommend keeping your child at home until they are fully recovered.
Absentee notifications can be entered via PAM up to seven days, if you will be away longer than this you will be required to contact the office on 5174 5515.
Please note all absentee notifications must be completed via a Parent Notified Absence in PAM prior to 9.30am. If we have not received notification you will be sent a message via SMS with regards to your student/s being absent for the day you will need to phone the admin office on 5174 5515 to advise the reason why the student is absent as this is a legal requirement.
Student Lunches
